PETALING JAYA, Aug 14 -- OKU Sentral president Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi said she is looking forward to the world-class action of the national athletes at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, slated to be held from Aug 24 to Sept 5.

Ras Adiba, who represented Malaysia at the 2015 ASEAN Para Games and 2018 Asian Para Games in the 10-metre air rifle shooting event, is optimistic that the country's athletes are ready to give their best after a lot of time spent in training sessions.

“I really can’t wait to see my friends compete in Tokyo and I know they will not put in 100 per cent but 1,000 times the effort because they have been training for years.

"They carry the hope of all Malaysians and I really want them to know that my prayers are with them," she told Bernama today.

She was met at the handing over of food aid to 106 persons with disabilities, including para-athletes who are affected by COVID-19 at the Selangor Boccia Association office compound here.

Commenting further, Ras Adiba hoped that the national athletes could achieve success in Tokyo and at the same time be able to improve their performance.

"They need to bring back as many medals as possible and fly the national flag in Tokyo, we want to hear the ‘Negaraku’ being played there, God willing," she said.

Malaysia's 22-strong contingent to the Tokyo Paralympic Games will be competing in nine sports and 32 events in total.
